Mini-Trip

Today I'm gonna write about the short-trip? or mini- trip? to Granville Island! Mark (my bestie) and I had an awesome sunday last last week. First, we enjoyed fusion sushi lunch and the beautiful view at Miku restaurant in Coal Harbour. talk talk talk… not stop talking about food and sake as we always do =)

先々週に親友マークとリラックスした日曜日を過ごしました！ちょこっと足を伸ばして、グランビル•アイランドのマーケットで新鮮な素材やキッチン用品を見てニヤニヤするだけの、料理オタクの二人ならではの過ごし方をしました。

I enjoyed sparkling sake and mark had a glass of beer to start. Our appetizer was the tempura fish and chips!! but not just a typical fish and chips dish. "Fish" part was black cod tempura style, "Chips" part was healthy lotus roots chips, and the sauce is home made tartar sauce and flavour-fll Ponzu. 

まずは、腹ごしらえ♪　話では聞いていたけど、まだ行ったことのなかったコールハーバーにあるMikuというお店に行ってきました。もちろん人気のハーバーviewの席を予約していきました。最初の飲み物は、大好きなスパークリング酒を、マークはもちろん生ビールw

We both ordered Kaisen Lunch "Premium" which comes with 2 pairs of popular Aburi Sushi, 1 pair of Special Roles, and 6 kinds of Nigiri Sushi. My favourite one was the Salmon Aburi Sushi and the Scallop Nigiri and Mark really liked the Simple Nigiris =)

おつまみがてら、二人が気になった天ぷらのフィッシュ•アンド•チップスを注文しました。フィッシュは銀ダラ、チップスはれんこんで、さっぱりと美味しい♥　ポン酢の香りがすごくよかったです。きっと
ホームメイドなんだろうなぁ。私も一度作ってみたいです♪　

After the lunch, we were soooooo full and our stomachs were about to explode!! So we changed our plan and we decided to walk down to the yaletown aqua bus station instead of taking bus. Great way to enjoy the fall weather and getting some exercise!!

メインは、二人とも海鮮ランチのプレミアムを頼みました。２種類の炙り寿司が各種２つ、スペシャル巻き寿司が２つ、握りが６種類の豪華なランチでした♪　夏のバンクーバーはどこの業界も忙しく、仕事で全然会えなかったので、二人とも奮発しました！w　たくさん食べて、話して、飲んで２時間くらい居座ってしまいました。まぁ、一つ一つのお寿司にコメントして語り合う２人にとって２時間は早い方ですがw

We were so excited to take the aquabus to Granville Island and we felt like we are visiting and sightseeing another city =)  It is only $2.50 to the Granville Island and $5 for round trip. Its the same price as taking public transit so I would recommend you to take the aquabus! This is faster, better view, and more fun♡

お腹がパンパンになってしまったので、予定変更！バスではなく、徒歩でアクアバス乗り場に向かいました♪　天気もよかったので、最高のお散歩でした。アクアバスは、片道＄２、往復＄５で、バスと同じ値段なのに早くて楽しい♪　オススメです！マーケットにつき、料理の話がとまらないマーク。そして、目に付く材料で妄想クッキングを語る私。

We couldn't stop checking out the beautiful fresh ingredients in the market.  I really wanted to get the huge salmon roe but I didn't. I was busy at work last week and I knew I didn't have time to process this salmon roe nicely so… NEXT TIME =)

４時間くらいうろうろしていました。キッチン用品のお店や食器屋さんでは、一つ一つのお皿で妄想盛りつけを語り合う２人w　海を見ながらのコーヒーブレイクでは、ワインのお店で試飲したワインに合う料理をかたりあう。ただのオタクですねw　そんな大好きなものに囲まれ、気を使わなくていい、そんな時間が私は大好きです♥

I found a cute designed chocolate! I really like chocolate with no chemical added =) Maybe I should send this chocolate package to my mom in the Christmas season♡

この筋子ちゃん♥　マークと買って、わけわけするか悩んだのですが。。。日曜だったこともあり、平日は仕事で忙しく疲れているので下処理をする時間がないということで諦めました。涙　次こそは買います！

This is Mark and my favourite store in the Granville Island called "Oyama Sausage. Co". Oyama is sound like Japanese last name =) I found a huge smoked beef tongue!! I got 100g for my self and 100g for my brother. I wish my daddy is here because he loves meat and cheese with red wine so♡ 

可愛い絵柄のチョコレートを発見！クリスマスに母に送ろうかなぁ♪　カナダの国旗柄とてんとう虫柄がオススメです。そして、マークと私のお気に入りのお店"Oyama Sausage. Co"！ハム、ソーセージなどが山のように売っています。　そこで、スモークビーフタンを発見！私の分と兄のお土産に１００gづつ購入しました。兄は、『ビールとの相性抜群！』と大絶賛♪　

I enjoyed smoked beef tongue with  red wine at night.  It tastes like smoked fatty beef and melts like beef tongue stew…mmm hard to explain. My brother enjoyed the first half with beer and next half as an bagel sandwich. He really liked it too =) 

スモークビーフタンはタンシチューのようにとろける味です♪　そして、私とマークが必ず購入するオススメは、ダックの生ハム『ダックプロシュート』です！野生のお肉独特の香りとコクが、赤ワインに最高です♥　父が好きそうな味！次にカナダに来たら食べさせてあげたいです♪

Must Buy at Oyama is "THE DUCK Prosciutto"♡ Mark and I love this duck with red wine… aweee.. already missing the duck prosciutto. This prosciutto tastes more wild like lean meat and that is why it is perfect with red wine. I really like to top a bit of sanshou spice on this duck and this spice kills the wild stinky-ness from duck. 

帰りのアクアバスを乗るころには、夕暮れでした。心も、お腹も満たされる日曜日でした♥　今週の日曜日にもまた、マークとランチの予定です！そのあとは、近所のデパート『THE BAY』のキッチン用品の階で遊ぶ予定なので、またブログにアップします♪

The sky was clear on our way back and my heart was perfectly cleansed after nice food, beautiful weather, and awesome time with mark =)
